The Flats
Invitational
Redfish Challenge
TO BENEFIT THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE OF SOUTHWEST
FLORIDA
- Join us August 31st-September 1st for The Flats Charity Redfish Challenge to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Southwest Florida and Cape Coral Municipal Charter School Foundation. Formerly known as the McFlats Invitational Redfish Challenge, this tournament promises to bring together a group of great people, great fun and a mission to make an immediate and positive impact on as many children as possible.
This year we have an exciting new venue for the tournament. The Flats Charity Redfish Challenge will be held at The Marina at Cape Harbour. The Captains Dinner on Friday night will be in the AIR CONDITIONED Boat House at the Marina and will include live and silent auctions, raffles, open bar and entertainment. The Poker Tournament will be held inside RumRunners this year in conjunction with the activities Friday night. Please join us after the Captains Dinner at Rumrunners for more live entertainment and good times.
Boats are in the water at 7:30 for a shotgun start on Saturday. Also, while the anglers are in the water feel free to invite the rest of your family & friends to come on over for the kids fishing tournament from 10:00am-12:00pm on the docks at RumRunners at Cape Harbour. Kids will have the opportunity to win great prizes; surely a must do event for all the Florida kids who love to fish or would love to learn how.
The weigh-in will be held at the docks at RumRunners and will close at 4:00pm giving everyone the opportunity to take some time to get their boats cleaned up and meet back at the Boat House at Cape Harbour.
Proceeds from The Flats Charity Redfish Challenge will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Southwest Florida and the Municipal Charter Schools Foundation.
Through our efforts for the past seven years of supporting the Ronald McDonald House, we have been able to donate over $350,000 to the local Southwest Florida Chapter. With these donations we are able to provide the appropriate necessities for families during a time when they need it most; at night, when it’s time to go to bed, not everyone is able to sleep. Moms and dads are often kept awake by worries about a child's health and the financial responsibilities associated with their child's illness. With all of this on parent’s minds, the last thing they want to worry about is the drive home or where they will be able to go to rest. The Ronald McDonald House of Southwest Florida provides a home away from home where families can sleep, eat, and share experiences with families that are dealing with the same hardship. Our Local chapter is located right on the property of Health Park near the Children’s Hospital and provides the parents with a place to go while keeping their children near by.
The Cape Coral Municipal Charter School Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization that provides support to the four Cape Coral Municipal Charter Schools. Those schools are Oasis Elementary, Oasis Middle, Oasis High School and Christa MacAuliffe Elementarty. The Foundations mission is to assist the City of Cape Coral Municipal Charter Schools in their quest to provide students with a unique learning experience in preparing them for success and participation in our community as responsible and productive citizens. Support from the Foundation includes scholarships, teacher recognition programs, mini grant programs and capital contributions.
You can’t go wrong when you invite Florida anglers out to a fishing tournament that will be a memorable time and will help those who truly need it. This tournament is helping a cause that touches the heart of every man and woman in the world-our children. Thank you so much for your sponsorship, your participation and your continued support of the Ronald McDonald House of Southwest Florida and The Cape Coral Municipal Charter School Foundation.
